X.C STUDIO

Eighteenth-century church façades, scanned, redrawn and printed again: ornament turned into sculpture, history turned into a surface you can stand in front of.
The project reads old façades as a library of shapes. Mouldings, scrolls and openings are digitised, abstracted and recombined into new reliefs.
The reliefs are then made: computational design for the form, 3D printing for the pieces, so the result can be built and not only rendered.

History, montaged into the present.
